The easiest and most effective way to protect your eardrums when using a firearm is by investing in high-quality earplugs specifically designed for shooting. This is the first step that many hunters and firearm users take to protect their ears from loud gunshots.
Selecting the right ear plugs will provide the necessary noise reduction and ensure a comfortable and secure fit, allowing you to enjoy your shooting experience while safeguarding your hearing. Recent studies highlight that prolonged exposure to gunfire without proper hearing protection can lead to permanent hearing damage, emphasizing the importance of using high-quality earplugs. Shooting ear plugs Australia offer superior protection that meets local safety standards, ensuring your hearing health is preserved in various shooting environments.

Discover the New Pro Impulse Filter – Unbeatable Ear Protection for Shooting
Responsive and fast acting:
The new PRO Impulse filter has been specially developed to reduce sudden high-volume sounds from being transmitted to the inner ear, giving the wearer protection when they need it while allowing normal hearing at all other times.
Superior noise reduction:
The filter gives a constant noise reduction of approximately 15dB, increasing to a maximum of 33dB when activated by sudden high noise. For higher levels of noise protection, the PRO Impulse can be worn in conjunction with over-ear headsets. According to research, combined hearing protection strategies, like using both earplugs and earmuffs, can reduce noise exposure by up to 20-30 dB in extreme conditions. The custom-made version utilises the same proven design as ACS PRO hearing protection with a discreet and comfortable soft silicone in-ear mould that’s custom-made to fit the wearer.
Compact for ultimate comfort:
Using ear plugs for shooting shouldn’t mean sacrificing your comfort. The small size of the Impulse filters makes them unobtrusive and comfortable to wear, fitting easily under communications headsets or earmuffs where double protection is required.
Advanced Research and Technology
Developed for military use, the Impulse filter offers users the perfect ear plugs for shooting. These earplugs protect hearing from gunfire, artillery noise and impulse sounds from nail guns, drop hammers and riveting. Designed to allow air to enter the ear, this unique filter technology retains spatiality and sound directionality as required in hunting and combat situations. Ventilated shooting ear plugs Australia have been shown to reduce the discomfort associated with prolonged use in high-pressure environments like shooting ranges.
Unlike other ear plugs for shooting in Australia, this ventilation minimises the occlusion effect and reduces irritation within the ear canal, maximising user comfort and limiting the causes of inflammation and infection.
Easy Care for Your Shooting Ear Plugs
The Impulse filter has undergone full environmental testing for humidity, hot and cold temperatures, 12-hour comfort, and sandstorms. Fully washable with water and normal detergents, Impulse offers ear protection for shooting in both outdoor and indoor situations. The Impulse filter with custom mould has a constant noise SNR value of 15dB (estimated), suitable for continuous safe use to 100 dB. ANSIIPIL-certified Impulse protection is 33.1 dB maximum.
Please note - ACS custom products require good deep impressions in order to create a seal in the ear, so it is important there is no obstruction, such as earwax, in the ear canal. When you attend your appointment with an Audiologist, there may be a possibility that the impressions can't be taken due to wax build up, which will only be apparent when the ear canal is inspected. If this is the case, the wax will have to be removed. It can be done through the same Audiologist taking the impression or your GP or some third party companies provide a chargeable safe wax removal treatment using specialist suction equipment.
